Baru semalam ku tengok klip di handfone adek ku yang menunjukkan seorang minah yang known to be a pickpocket kena belasah sampai mati oleh sekumpulan lelaki. Satu batu besar yang untuk buat rumah, dibaling ke kepalanya sampai berdarah parah!

Hari ini plak, seorang lelaki dibelasah sampai mati oleh orang-orang kampung kerana disyaki mengintai anak dara jirannya! Lelaki yang dibelasah sampai mati tu, sedang menonton TV bersama keluarga apabila jiran-jiran tetangganya mengheret dia keluar dan membelasah nya sampai mati!

Sang isteri merayu-rayu mintak dilepaskan suaminya tapi TAK diendahkan! Biler lelaki yang dibelasah sampai mati da terkulai-kulai kelemahan, baru nak bawak anak dara yang kener intai tu to testify. Dan si anak dara tu sendiri mengaku orang yang dibelasah sampai mati tu BUKAN orang yang mengintainya!

Then how? Terlajak perahu bley gostan balik, kalau da mati? Mana ley idup balik!
Saper nak jawab? Saper nak bertanggunjawab? Tak pasal2 si isteri jadik janda, si anak yang 5 orang jadik anak yatim! Nak tekan butang REWIND, ni bukan cassette recorder. Mana silapnya? Semangat kepahlawanan yang membara dan melulu sampai tak payah berbual terus bedal aje?

TAKE WALKING TO THE NEXT LEVEL - POWER WALK!

My bestie, Shikin has been into power walking lately. Have been persuading me to join her which I could barely afford the time as she will have it usually over the weekends. Ok fren, if I don't have orders or bridal thingy, will join you for sure. :)

Power walking is an unparalleled aerobic conditioning activity. Its calorie burn and weight-loss potential are similar to those of a running program, yet it's much easier on the body because there's about half the impact and wear and tear on your joints.

When you power walk, you generally move along at a fast pace of 4.4 to 6.0 miles an hour, covering one mile in 10 to 13.6 minutes. Some scientists speculate that you burn one and a half to two times as many calories power walking as regular-paced walking because you cover a greater distance in the same amount of time. Power walking also tones your muscles -- buttocks, thighs, hips, shoulders, upper back and abs -- for a sleeker body shape.

You probably will see a marked increase in tone and a decrease in body fat within six to eight weeks of adding one to three power walks a week into your overall walking and workout program. Each power walk should last from 20 to 60 minutes, including your slower-paced warm-up and cool-down. Serious walkers and anyone on a real weight-loss kick may want to do four to five power walks weekly

Form is the key to getting the most from power walking. Review the following head-to-toe checklist before you walk and every 10 minutes or so while you walk. Besides making you look like a pro, good technique will help you move along faster with less effort and minimize your risk of injury:

Head: Keep your head up and centered between your shoulders. Keep your chin up, and focus your eyes straight ahead. Your head and neck should "float" above your shoulders in a relaxed, easy manner.
Shoulders: Keep them back and down. Don't allow them to round forward or creep up toward your ears.
Chest: Your chest should be naturally lifted, as if a string were attached to the center, gently pulling it upward.
Arms: Your arms should be bent at slightly less than 90 degrees. Swing them back and forth -- not side to side -- like pendulums, and keep them close to your body. At the top of the arm swing, your elbow will be level with your breastbone; at the bottom of the arm swing, your hand will brush your hip. Swing your arms briskly and definitely. Remember: In power walking, your feet follow your arms. In other words, you use your arms to propel your body forward.
Hands: Keep them loosely cupped. Pretend you're holding a butterfly that you don't want to let escape but you don't want to crush either.
Abdominals: Lean forward slightly so that you feel as if you are "tumbling forward in control" as you walk. Pull your belly button gently in toward your spine to help protect your lower back.
Hips: Because your stride is quick and linear, move your hips in a sort of exaggerated wiggle. Use your hips to propel you forward so that you walk at a fast rate.
Thighs: Take more steps per minute at your normal or a slightly shorter-than-normal stride length. Straighten the advancing leg so that your knee is fairly straight from the moment of first contact with the ground until you are just about to swing forward with your other leg.
Feet: Imagine that you are walking along a tightrope. Each footfall should land squarely on the imaginary line directly in front of you so that you don't stray from walking in a straight line. Get a good toe lift by using your ankles. Land heel first, roll through the foot, and then push off firmly and vigorously. Your footfall should match the rhythm of your arm swing.
Breathing and heart rate: Your breathing will be deep and strong, but try to keep it regular and steady. Your heart will be pounding, but focus on staying relaxed.

Was telling myself the whole morning that I must must watch this show yang very very berprestige.
Actually bukan aper, just looking forward to Faizal Tahir.. yes Faizal Tahir and his performance. Phewww... he deserves all the awards la. At the point when I am writing this, he already GONDOL 4 AWARDS. Yet, he is so humble. Very good Mr Superman!

1) It's coming to the end of April soon. Cepat nyer! I love and dread MAY!

2) I have completed my Cake Baking Module last Thursday. I have passed my tests for theory and practical. Alhamdullilah. Will be getting my certificate next month. Yeaynesss!! Guess what I have baked on my last Baking lesson? *chuckles* LOG CAKE... hehehe, I know its too early for Christmas.. hehehe ANY ORDERS ANYONE? *chuckles*

3) I have taken up another Module comes July. The Hi-Tea Desserts Module. Another one to keep myself and my mind occupied. Haizz...

4) Am still with DEPL. Planning to leave for sure... ermmm, my pay was increased! Duh! But for sure... I will leave... for a BISTRO OF MY OWN! Insyaallah.

5) Finally, nuthing can make me happy and living my life wonderfully except for this wonderful person in my life... MY LIL' AMRI! We are getting closer each day. We do things together too... eating, sweeping the floor, drawings.. etc etc.

A mixture of happiness and sadness today.

Its life ek.

Received an sms from Bonda in the morning. She has already reached destination. Everything was as planned. Alhamdullilah. Will update me with more stories and pictures. So happy for her as I can sensed that she is having a blast with her beloved family members. *chuckles*

Had baking class after work today. Its a test day. I hope I will pass the theory test.

Today, I bake banana cake for the test. Its been the 6th week. How time flies. The next week will be the last week for the Cake Module. Gonna miss the moments with Chegu and the rest of the other buddies. Can't wait for the graduation thou! Right after this, will be taking the Hi-Tea & Dessert Module. Chegu last class for the year. Not going to conduct this module anymore... feeling lucky coz I've gotten myself a place in it! *grin* So am looking forward to this.

Its the end of Thursday already and its FRIDAY tomorrow! Yeaynesss!!!

Its baking time over the weekends. Got lotsa orders to do.

What a way to kill my time, but I believe things happens for a reason. What ever it is life has to move on.

Feeling sad over something. I just don't know how to put it into words. Dear God, if this is a test from you, ku redha. Like everyone else, I wanna live life happily and meaningfully. *Praying hard and am leaving everything to HIM*

about, THE BLUE MOUNTAIN, Sydney

a friend ask about. I don't actually know much about it. The last time I visited was the Winter Season. I guess if this month's visit, it is not a good time as its a rainy and thunderstorm season in some parts of Sydney. The Blue Mountains generally has a reputation for snow in winter, however, despite the cool temperatures there are only around 5 snow days per year in the upper mountains.

During the winter months (June, July August), the average temperature in the Upper Mountains is around 5°C while in Summer (December, January February), the average temperature is around 18°C, tak la panas sangat pun.
That was me when I was there many years back. It was so thrilling for me considering my 'jakuness' in seeing the snow for the very first time. *chuckles* Everything was the first try for me! Wearing that attire that makes me looks sooo huge, climbing up the mountain (sounds like real rite? indeed I did not climb up, thanks to the cable that brought me and my frens up *chuckles*), there's skiing and snowboarding too.

SITI'S DELIGHTS BOOTH AT HALAL FOOD EXPO

Dear friends/baking enthusiasts

There will be a Halal Food Expo at The Singapore Expo. Hall 5 from Thursday, 20th Mar 2008 to Sun, 23rd Mar 2008. For the first time ever, SITI'S DELIGHTS (SD) will be participating by taking a booth in the exhibition (Booth No. 26) Why we've decided to participate is because we felt that if people wants to buy halal food and halal baked products, why not they learn how to cook and bake these food themselves? Hence, that is why SD wants to reach out to these people and show them what they can learn at our school. So, once they have learned how to cook or bake these food, the next time they visit such an exhibition, will be to source out for halal suppliers for their own business! Well...that's not a far fetched idea because many of my present students are going there exactly for that purpose!

So, if you've always wondered what you will be learning at SD but have no time to make the trip to our school, well, this is the best opportunity for you to learn more about us. Do visit our booth No. 26 (quite near the entrance) and see what we have to offer. They are Chef Alfie, Chef Andri and Chef Amri. As SD will be moving into cuisine culinary classes in the very near future, these Chefs will soon be a familiar face at our premises soon. I was home the whole day. Yippeee!!
Not resting hokay! Got orders to make. Chocolate Tarts & Brownies.
By the time I finished the whole thing, its already evening.
Intended to watch Dvds. Something comical... Settled for citer yang ader Apek Saiful.
Nana Tanjung and Anak Mami Kembali. Dari mana datang ni citer pun ku tak tahu. Mesti dari Zerah.... hehehehehehe.
Saw Azean Irdawaty in Nana Tanjung. Nampak kelainan skit. Tak sekecoh and se'aktif' like the ones she's in Anak Mami Kembali.
Heard about her having cancer. Went to google and search about her.

She's diagnosed with cancer and now living in the pain of chemotherapy. However, she is one super strong person!

Then, found a link of the songs that she sang. I like this one from the other three. *chuckles* Sedap gak... sweet and simple with meaningful lyrics.

I have been busy indeed. Busy with work, life and other things!

A tedious day today.

Right after work, went straight home to fetch lil sonnie to the doctor again.

He has been sick and so do I.

Been down with this fever since Saturday nite.

He got another 4 days mc. I request for none.

I had cough too and I hate coughing... the throat is so dry and itchy and I feel sore as well.

My head aches, my body aches, my thoat hurts and so do my heart.

I am extremely busy at work!

Getting fed-up with the whole thing! Errgghhh!!

God give me strength!

My first day of syawal,
... was as usual every year. Visiting grandma and spending the time at her abode.
Went back home late evening and helping out in the kitchen most of the time.
Lotsa guests came over... well, my dad's side mostly as he got a bigger family than my mum.

My second day of syawal,
... was home the whole day!
but not resting! am glad that sis zerah was with us this year. ader la orang menolong ku.. tapi kesian plak tenok 'mak buyung' ni.. goreng ayam, top up kuih... hehehehehe
my another sis plak sungguh tak leh harap... saat2 mcm ni, selalu tak amik cuti! hmmpphh!

Yoga originates from Hindu philosophy, that is to seek the knowledge of God or perfect self-knowledge through such practise, wit he ultimate goal of liberating the spirit from matter. Encyclopedia Encarta listed the 8 stages of true yoga:

1) Self-control (yama) involves truthfulness, abstinence, avoidance of theft, refusal of gifts, and not doing injury to living things.

2) Religious observance (niyama) embraces austerity, poverty, contentment, purification rites, recital of the Vedic hymns, and devoted reliance on the Supreme Being.

3) Postures (asana), of which there are a great many, are regarded as basic to all the stages that follow.

) Regulation of the breath (pranayama) includes altering its depth and rhythm, breathing through either nostril at will, and the virtual suspension of breath.

5) Restraint of the senses (pratyahara) means their withdrawal from external objects and the consequent turning of the mind upon itself.

6) Steadying of the mind (dharana) narrows attention to some one part of the body, such as the navel, the tip of the nose, or the middle of the brow, and in that way renders the practitioner insensitive to outside disturbance.

7) Meditation (dhyana) fixes the mind on the object of knowledge, especially Brahma, to the exclusion of all other thoughts.

8) Profound contemplation (samadhi) is the perfect absorption of thought in the object of knowledge, its union and identification with that object.

If Yoga is performed with all those 8 stages, then Yoga is Haram.
However, if the Yoga practise only involved stages 3 to 6, then it is not Haram since there is no religious significance in it. Instead, all those 4 stages are purely physical in nature.

Please continue to seek religious knowledge at mosques or by reading authentic materials. A good book that you can rely on is The Reliance of the Traveller by Nuh Ha Mim Keller. This book can be found in many Muslim bookstores, especially Darul Arqam and Pergas.

Had lunch at the hawker ctr outside my office. After receiving my order of Mee Hoon Goreng Ikan Bilis, another Mamak came over to my table with a Can drink. Pointing his finger at a table across me he said, 'Itu orang bagi awak. Sudah bayar.' and walks off. Looking at that particular person, I dont find him familiar at all. He smile and nod his head. I shake my head refusing to accept it coz I didnt even know him. He came over at my table. All eyes (of my colleagues) were at me. He said softly, 'I ikhlas to get you a drink. You usually do what you're told or asked to, even when you really don't want to do it. You keep your grudges inside, but because you feel mistreated, you grumble, complain and have frequent bursts of anger. You feel suppressed, but just can't seem to say "no".

Does that sound like you?

If you're consistently suppressing your desires to accommodate other people's needs, even it makes you really unhappy, perhaps you need a shift in self-perspective.

You probably feel that if you don't give in to others' requests or demands, that people will not love or accept you anymore. You believe that their "love" for you is based solely on the pre-requisite that you comply with their every wish.

People trapped in such relationships can't seem to refuse the requests of family members or friends. And their family members and friends have become so used to seeing them in the submissive role that they often think that's what makes them happy, so they leave them to it. These people also get feelings of self-worth from being the "victim", the "martyr", or the one who has to sacrifice his own needs to accommodate the desires of the people he loves. This is a false line of reasoning that he has allowed himself to believe.

But your family members and friends will just as easily love you even if you can't give in to their desires. Love does not require that you suppress your true self and happiness. Love does not need you to be dishonest about your real feelings.

True freedom is found in giving out of love and not out of fear. When we give out of fear of rejection, we are not really giving but bartering whatever we are giving in exchange for others' acceptance.

No one can respond to what others ask of them all the time. And you are just as worthy of love even when you can't accommodate the needs of others.

Is it time you allowed others to be responsible for their own reality? And for you to be responsible for your own happiness?

Got the news yesterday nite while on my way back home from work. Bob was on his way to Thailand with his good friend to render help to another friend who was already there and never get to reach Thailand and found mishap in Ipoh. The tragedy was telecast in the radio, tv as well as the papers.

Was taken yesterday at the shop.

Was at the shop over the weekend and my nephew came over. It's been 3 years! How time flies!

Nur Dani is 4 months older than my dearest Shafiq Amri. Can still remember the moments spent with him. Having given the chance to take care of him before my pregnancy was due. Right after dearest Shafiq Amri was borned, Dani was taken back to his grandma's place. A bit sad over the fact but .... if its not meant to be mine, I have to live with it. But it was a great experienced!

Hope that both of them are able to grow up wonderfully even thou not together!

Yes, its Valentine's Day! A no celebration for the Muslims. Somehow or rather I just can't stand those who PRETEND they don't celebrate it but EXPECT their partners to buy them gifts. Hehehe!

Thus, I have included here the story behind the Festival of Love. Its a bit long and draggy...

The story of the Festival of Love

The Festival of Love was one of the festivals of the pagan Romans, when paganism was the prevalent religion of the Romans more than seventeen centuries ago. In the pagan Roman concept, it was an expression of "spiritual love". There were myths associated with this pagan festival of the Romans, which persisted with their Christian heirs. Among the most famous of these myths was the Roman belief that Romulus, the founder of Rome, was suckled one day by a she-wolf, which gave him strength and wisdom. The Romans used to celebrate this event in mid-February each year with a big festival. One of the rituals of this festival was the sacrifice of a dog and a goat. Two strong and muscular youths would daub the blood of the dog and goat onto their bodies, then they would wash the blood away with milk. After that there would be a great parade, with these two youths at its head, which would go about the streets. The two youths would have pieces of leather with which they would hit everyone who crossed their path. The Roman women would welcome these blows, because they believed that they could prevent or cure infertility. The connection between Saint Valentine and this festival Saint Valentine is a name which is given to two of the ancient "martyrs" of the Christian Church. It was said that there were two of them, or that there was only one, who died in Rome as the result of the persecution of the Gothic leader Claudius, c. 296 CE. In 350 CE, a church was built in Rome on the site of the place where he died, to perpetuate his memory. It was also said concerning the origins of this holiday that when the Romans became Christian, after Christianity had become widespread, the Roman emperor Claudius II decreed in the third century CE that soldiers should not get married. He came to the realization that married men are inferior at warfare, due to their personal attachments. Moreover, married men had a tendency to even avoid joining the army. To remedy this situation, Claudius II outlawed marriage. Valentine, or Valentinus as he was known, lived in Rome at this time, and was outraged at the decree of this warmongering emperor. He refused to follow it. Valentine became a haven for young couples hoping to enter the Sacrament of Marriage. He married them in private, until the emperor found out. He threw him in jail and sentenced him to execution. While awaiting his execution, Valentine became friends & fell in love with the daughter of his jailer. This was kept a secret because according to Christian laws, priests were forbidden to marry or fall in love. It was also believed he was responsible for giving the jailer's blind daughter back her eyesight, and before his execution, Valentinus slipped her a passionate love letter to say goodbye, and signed it, of course, “Your Valentine.”

But he is still regarded highly by the Christians because of his steadfastness in adhering to Christianity when the emperor offered to pardon him if he forsook Christianity and worshipped the Roman gods; then he would be one of his closest confidantes and he would make him his son-in-law. But Valentine refused this offer and preferred Christianity, so he was executed on 14 February 270 CE, on the eve of February 15, the festival of Lupercalis.

When the Romans embraced Christianity, they continued to celebrate the Feast of Love mentioned above. On this festival, the Romans engaged in an annual young man’s rite of passage to the god Lupercus. The names of teenage women were placed in a box and drawn at random by adolescent men; thus, a man was assigned a woman companion, for their mutual entertainment and pleasure (often sexual), for the duration of a year, after which another lottery was staged.

Church officials weren’t too happy about their newly converted followers still celebrating holidays in honor of pagan gods and goddesses, but they were especially troubled by what they saw around the time of Lupercalia: spankings, wine-drinking, and wicked boys and girls spending time together (there was other objectionable stuff going on, but this is a family website, so we’ll just leave it out.) The Christians figured out a very smart way of phasing out the pagan holiday - make it a Saint’s day instead! Instead of the feasting and passion enjoyed by the pagans, the early Christians decided to focus on the romantic tradition associated with the holiday. They chose St. Valentine, who had become the patron saint of lovers for his bravery in helping couples stay together. The date of his martyrdom is a lucky coincidence - it just happened to fall close enough to the pagan holiday that they were able to pull off the neat trick of substituting one special day for another.

So, in 496 A.D., February 14, was declared in the name of St. Valentine by Pope Gelasius. But he was clever enough to retain the lottery, aware of Romans’ love for games of chance. This custom lasted until the 1700s and thru the passage of time, more and more Romans relinquished their pagan festival and replaced it with the Church’s holy day. It remained a Church holiday until 1969, when Pope Paul VI took it out from the calendar.

I reached home pretty early today. Had my bath and feed Lil Amri to dinner. Soon after, read him his usual 'Lil Red Riding Hood'. He is 'extra' talkative today. I noticed that his favourite word for this week was 'Ice Cream'.. Hehehehe.. While, he was busy with his guitar, me browse through his colouring book and found an image of an ice cream. Showed him that and was so happy to lay his fingers on it! I left him alone with the colouring while I did some surfing on the internet... and the result?.... I WAS SO IMPRESSED!

The other day, met Mum, brother and little sonnie at the Tampines Mall.
By the time I arrived, most of the shops are closed.
But am so happy to be able to get these... dah lama tak makannnn!
Mum called this 'buah berangan' as 'akak's buah berangan' as she was craving for those 'berangan' when she was expecting me. It happens in the middle of the night, 30 years ago! Poor Dad got to hunt for them which he finally gotten them around the Geylang area... Lucky Mum!
